When sex goes off the boil whats your advice to get it back?

i love my girl very much, but i have been suffering from depression and the tablets i take have somewhat knocked my libido. i would like to rekindle the spark though am not sure how to go about it. im a gay woman who has been with my partner for 8years. * please no stupid answers.*When sex goes off the boil whats your advice to get it back?
Well anti depressants suppress your sex drive. Like the first dude said you could come of the tablets but, then again you wouldn't be taking them if they weren't necessary. You could try to exercise a little more to bring your mood up. Also try new things in the bedroom. Maybe a romantic dinner and you could role play, you know where you act like its the first date etc? Maybe look for alternatives to taking anti depressants. As this s probably one of the key factors to your low sex drive. When sex goes off the boil whats your advice to get it back?
I had the same problem when I started taking depression meds. They counteracted that with a drug called Busparone for anxiety. It worked for me anyways.............
8 years?

You want that spark then you need to move on. Sorry to bring the bad news.

People werent designed to find the same partner attractive indefinately.
try something new :)

get on the internet and find some ideas.

even something as simple as some sexy lingerie or a new 'toy' could help get that spark back into your sex life :)

xx
my advice would be to stop taking the tablets. not to be a stupid answer but because i've heard that depression drugs are nothing you want to mess with..they can cause a lot of severe problems u dont even know about till later on.
I would take it a day at a time, dont rush things.

Eight years is a long time !!
You have to find your spark, find the thing that initially attracted you to you lover and hold on to it. We all fight periods of ';staleness'; in our relationships, the one's who will be together forever are the ones that rekindle their own flames. For me dating again, truly going on dates for the enjoyment of it helped. For others spending more time apart allows them to enjoy each others company more.

ARE THEIR ANY POKER professionals out there that could give me some advice on how to get on the ept tour?

All the information you need is on the web site. Either buy in with your money or qualify by playing online.ARE THEIR ANY POKER professionals out there that could give me some advice on how to get on the ept tour?
The best thing for that would be to play satellites live or online.ARE THEIR ANY POKER professionals out there that could give me some advice on how to get on the ept tour?
I live in Vegas and i play a fair amount of poker and i can say that i find the best way for someone who does not have the 10k to drop on the main event is through playing satellites. At the w.s.o.p they had them for 125,175,540, and 1050 dollars. Each table was a single table and the winner got so many buy-in chips plus cash to play in the event they wanted to. Now they also may offer super satellites as well. These are where the buy-in may be 100 dollars and they take the prize pool and give away as many seats as they can into the event. For example if the buy-in for the event is 10k, and they hold a super satellite and the total prize pool is 97k they would give away 9 seats into the event and the rest of the money would be played for by the players. Good luck.
Not a pro but play online a bit.

Pokerstars.com are having a tourney and 1st prize is a seat at the EPT in London.

The buy-in is $10 + $1 registration.

Trying for 3 months to get pregnant need advice!?

I was on depo for 2 years and then got married, switched to birth control pills and stopped them in Spetember of 2006. Been tring to get pregnant since and have seen no results. Just wondering by me having been on depo for so long would that be the reson it's taking so long, or am I just worring too much. Going to try Clear Blue ovulation kit and wanted to know would this also help!Trying for 3 months to get pregnant need advice!?
When did you stop having the injection? This can sometimes take up to 18 months to clear from your system completely. So depending on when you stopped it this could be the reason. It will not have an affect on your chances of pregnancy though once it is out of your system. There are no proven long term effects of the injection

Apart from that 3 months really isn't that long. It takes couples on average, 3-6 months of trying before they conceive. Its not considered a problem by Drs unless you have been trying for 12 months without success.

Yes the ovulation kit could help as it will let you know just before you ovulate so you will be able to time the BD right, giving you the highest possible chance of success. Good luck xTrying for 3 months to get pregnant need advice!?
I don't know about depo, but I just started using the Clearblue ovulation sticks and detected an LH surge after using 4 sticks and I am really hoping, fingers crossed that it has worked. I will send good baby vibes your way!
when you are on birth control of any kind for any amount of time, it can really mess up your cycle. sometimes it takes up to a year to get any type of regular cycle back. that's why they tell you to go off birth control for a year before trying for a baby. an ovulation kit will help because that way you will know when you are ovulating and not just having sex on a random day and hoping to get pregnant.
I was on the patch for 1 and a half years and when I went off, my cycle didn't get back to normal for another year.

The best thing you could do is to consult your doctor about your concerns, relax and let it happen, and above all enjoy the most spontaneous and liberating sex you can have in your relationship, (don't have to worry about birth control). The more relaxed you are the better off you will be when you become pregnant, and the more exiting it will be.
I was told by my dr it can take up to 6 months for the effects of the Pill to wear off in some patients, not sure how long depo would take to wear off in comparison.

I tried the clear blue kit but thought it was too expensive, and you have to start on the right day in your cycle for the entire month to matter.

I used a paid subscription to www.fertilityfriend.com and a $20 basal body thermometer (they'd be sold in the same place as the ov kits) and had a much better grasp on what my body was doing. Also the up side to charting your temp to see your ovulation is you'll have your numbers to take to your doctor if you need to - mine looked at several months worth and felt good I didn't have a hormone imbalance that was keeping me from getting pg

Also, stress is a huge barrier to getting pregnant. It's easier said than done, but do your best to not be tense all the time and it can make a difference.
i was on the depo shot for 2 years and got off it and i've been off it for 8 months and i'm trying to get pg... and i'm like you i'm worry myself about it... if that clear blue works let me know

    Can I get some advice?

I am a 16 year old crossdresser just starting out (with Mom's approval) and was wondering what essentials I should have as far as clothes? Can I get some advice?
If mom approves, ask her! If you have any sisters, ask them for pointers. Look at the girls in your class, or girls your age at the mall and see what they're wearing. Buy some girl teen fashion magazines and see what you can learn.

As a mom of sons, I know I'm sort of out of touch with teen girl fashions, but some things never change. Although I'm sure I'd feel weird buying my son his first bra. :)Can I get some advice?
    Slutty dresses

wow people on here are mean. if you want to be a crossdresser go for it! You'll need a wig, a lot of make up, fake nails, good heels, and tons of cute, short dresses and skirts. You'll also need jewelery and earrings and try some pink and purple, like girly colors.
    tshirts, alot and jeans
    A good handbag.
That other girl is an natural born A--Hole! she would make her parents proud!!OK, cute capris they are wearable all year long. stay away from pointy shoes they will make your feet look bigger. wide strapped tank tops, only because men shoulders look a little broader then women and you can do the layer look . • I work full time and retuning back to school, i just cant get it together. please help any advice will help?

i am a single mom reurning back to school and i work full time as well. i currently enrolled for 2 classes but is seems like i can never get enough time to get the reading done for both classes. it seem as if the most i can read is maybe 3 pages before i want to pass out. and the funny thing is that the books are some what interesting. i just feel overwhelmed because i feel like there is there is something some where i just not doing correctly. i dont have a social life so i know thats not where my time is going.I work full time and retuning back to school, i just cant get it together. please help any advice will help?
    1) Seek out the student academic counseling services @ your school and find out about seminars or classes dedicated to improving reading comprehension, note taking skills %26amp; study habits.

    2) The most popular method for reading textbooks is the SQ3R method: survey, question, read, recite %26amp; review.

What I try to do is to break down the reading assignments into chunks - either by chapter or topic.

Then I survey the section I'm going to read by scanning the section headings, any notes in the margin and any review questions at the end.

Most textbooks provide a chapter summary %26amp; review questions. So you can flip through the chapter to get a feel for it %26amp; read the chapter summary instead. Note the things that don't make sense to you so you can focus on them when you read the chapter.

After you've scanned %26amp; read, then review the key points. It helps to make an outline or at the very least a list of key terms %26amp; concepts to use as study guides later.

Before each lecture, scan your study guide to reinforce the material and to see if there are any questions you need to ask the instructor.

If you haven't read the material before the lecture, then be sure to take good lecture notes %26amp; keep them on hand when you do the reading. Skim the lecture notes %26amp; the chapter/section summary. Then you can decide where you should focus %26amp; where you can save time.

    Links about SQ3R:

    http://web.princeton.edu/sites/mcgraw/ac鈥?/a>

    http://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/n鈥?/a>

    http://www.ic.arizona.edu/ic/wrightr/oth鈥?/a>

    http://www.studygs.net/texred2.htm

Each of these links has a different presentation. Choose the one that you like the best %26amp; print it out for reference.

Customize the methods to suit your learning style. (e.g. visual, auditory, etc.)

    3) I'm a procrastinator so I compensate by using strategies like these:

    - Always make time to scan the reading. Be sure you have excellent lecture notes. This way, you don't have to worry as much about the reading. Read as time permits.

    - I sign up for 1 ';extra'; class so I can survey them %26amp; drop the one I like the least.

    - I stick w/ instructors who are highly organized, present the material thoroughly %26amp; are extremely clear about course objectives/requirements.

    - If there are extra credit opportunities, take them. Extra credit helps alleviate exam pressure.

    - For classes that will have multiple choice tests, I usually just browse through the reading right before class. I take really good lecture notes %26amp; only use the textbook to supplement them. (i.e. use the practice questions, look up definitions, review key concepts that aren't clear from my notes)

For classes w/ an emphasis on multiple choice, reviewing lists key terms/concepts is the key. Because for multiple choice, you only have to recall %26amp; recognize concepts or ideas. The ones that don't come back right away - apply process of elimination %26amp; always answer the question to increase your odds of getting a good score.

Also, use sample tests in the textbook or previous exams the instructor may have online or in the library to practice %26amp; to determine what you need to study further.

    4) Don't feel you must spend an equal amount of time on every class or every assignment. Know your strengths %26amp; weaknesses so you can use your time wisely.

Balance your classes. Don't take 2 tough classes at once. Try to take one that is challenging w/ one that's easy. If a class is really time consuming, consider just taking that one class so you can do well.

    5) Find a good study partner in each class. Be each other's back up. Compare notes. If you really work well together, you can divvy up reading assignments %26amp; exchange your study guides.I work full time and retuning back to school, i just cant get it together. please help any advice will help?
You might want to get a job where you can work from home, or at least set your own hours. That way you could experiment with different schedules and see what works best.

Advice please when a guy looks at me that I don't know I get really shy?

If a cute stranger looks my way I get shy and look away. Any advice?Advice please when a guy looks at me that I don't know I get really shy?
It may just be because you aren't really used to cute guys looking your way. But pretty girls aren't supposed to be shy. That's my motto and I'm taking it with me to my grave but, try having more confidence but not too much. Wouldn't want guys to think you're arrogant, even though I'm sure you aren't. Anyway, if a cute guy were to look at me and stare me down with interest, I'd flirt without words. Actions speak louder than words, correct? So, if he looks at you, hold his gaze so that he'll have time to look you over. he may want to capture your dazzling smile. Maybe, by looking in your eyes, he can tell if you're interested or not. If you are, send signals but not flirty types. Like i said, capture his gaze and then break it so that he can have enough courage to come and talk to you...unless he's shy also. Well, I hope I helped you! have a nice day and take care.Advice please when a guy looks at me that I don't know I get really shy?
ur just shy it works both ways when a girl looks at me i turn away then i always end up regretting it. try to not break eye contact just try not to stare to long lol

I need some advice as to get my 2 year old to actually stay on the potty and use it!!?

My son wont stay on the potty! I have tried letting him sit on the big toilet with his little portable cushioned one and letting him sit in his potty chair. He will sit like 5 seconds and then he's gone!I have tried giving him books and toys to play with. I even put him in front of the TV and put on Blues Clues (his favorite show!) and hes still up!!! I have tried letting him stand and aim for Cheerios and nothing. I have even tried the rewards system and put him some little toys in a box and whenever he pees or stinkys in the potty he gets to pick a toy out. I dont want to force him and I want him to learn at his own time. I knows when he has to go. He'll hold himself and say Pee Pee mommy and run to the bathroom but he wont stay on it long enough to go and ends up peeing in the floor or in a diaper if I ctach him long enough to put one of him. He's an incredibly hyper child anyways. I'm at my wits. HELP! Thanks!I need some advice as to get my 2 year old to actually stay on the potty and use it!!?
don't get stressed. if you do he'll see it and he'll use the situation as a weapon against you.he may not be ready for it yet so don't force the issue. firstly concentrate on getting him used to the potty. if he does use it, even if it's the smallest of trickles etc offer him loads of praise and affection and tell him how proud you are. if he does nothing on it, don't make an issue out of it. by postive reinforcement he will learn. p.s. don't go down the bribary road, it isn't worth it.I need some advice as to get my 2 year old to actually stay on the potty and use it!!?
pls just let him go without diapers and underwear that way u can spank him if he doesnt potty and pls just hurt his privates if he doest want to dont force him just bring him to boot camp when he is 8...
Maybe give him a drink to hold while he's on the pot. That's what I'm trying with my 2 year old. I also just let him be when he says he has to go I'll take him but I don't force the issue. I want to train him when he's like 4 you just show him and he will know thats what I'm gonna do. As it is he follows me to the bathroom so he should know.
    Be sure he is ready.

If you think he is, what I would do is sit with a few books and read to my son. We would try going around every 45 minutes or so.

I would also remind my son of the things he could do when he was a big boy (dry, in big boy underpants) that he couldn't do in diapers. That seemed to motivate him.

Here is a website that has good info. Good luck, and above all, be patient with him!
Sounds like he his not ready yet. Don't rush him into potty training, take you cues from him. Since he doesn't want to sit on the potty, don't make him, just leave it in the bathroom and let him know its available any time he wants to try it. Back off for a month or 2 and then try again and see if he's more interested. My daughter didn't train until 3 and my son didn't train completely until almost 4. Each child is different and pushing a 2 year old to potty train will just wind up being a power struggle between you two. I really don't understand why people think a child HAS to be trained according to a certain timeline - each child is different - I guarantee he'll be trained before its time for him to be in school, so don't sweat a few more weeks or months right now.
My son is 2 as well...he is interested in the potty, because he knows that he gets a treat if he goes in the potty. On the flip side, they need to show an interest in going as well. Boys are the hardest to train, and they have to be ready to do it.
he's not ready! he is showing u he's not ready. When he says, pee pee, say ok, do u want to go in the potty? if he really needs to go, its gonna come out, he shouldnt have to be on the toilet more than a minute, tops.
Ask 100 moms how to potty train a child, and you'll get 100 different answers. Frankly I think the child will use the potty when he or she is ready, plain and simple, but I also believe that you can provide some ';incentives'; to help him get there.

We used M%26amp;M's. Every time our daughter used the potty she would get a couple of M%26amp;Ms. We refused to give her any otherwise. Now that she's potty trained, we only give her M%26amp;M's for going ';stinky'; not EVERY time she goes, because it's sort of turned into a habit, and I';m not necessarily saying that's great, but it DID work.

Also, while we were going through the phase of just pee peeing on the toilet, but not doing stinky on the toilet, our child therapist recommended that if the child goes POOP in the underwear to make the child help you clean it! That'll quickly teach them that they don't want to clean it up, instead of knowing ';Mom or Dad will do it!'; She had to help clean it once and she never had a pooping accident again!
There are some potties that have a bar across the crotch so that the kids can't easily get off by himself. Might want to give one a try.

    Good luck!

Are you a mommy? Check out http://blogs.chron.com/mamadrama/
He may not be ready for potty training. My son was 3 1/2 before I got him potty trained. But, what I did to potty train both my kids (my daughter was trained by age 2) was to let them run around naked. It gets a little messy but it teaches them when they have the urge. Those pull ups are the devil. They just think they are wearing a diaper. And, underwear are good but my son still pee'd and pooped in them. I also rewarded them with a peice of candy when they went in the potty. We also did a potty dance and sang a song I made up. If you act like a fool they love it.

    Have patience.
this is test of your patience, so don't stress yourself out!

With my son, i stayed with him at home for a few weekends, we watched all of his favorite movies all day (i had to watch Lady and the Tramp 3 times in a row), drank and ate all his favorite foods and he sat on his potty every twenty minutes. we played Memory while he sat on his potty. I sang a ';poopie'; song and poured warm water in the potty next to his ';wee wee'; to give him the idea he was supposed to make it wet. Take him to the bathroom with you. I know it's gross but make him see what you are leaving in the toilet so he gets the idea. If his dad is around, make him take your son to the bathroom with him as well. This may take a few weekends to do, but it's all about consistantcy. Congratulate him when he makes it right, don't get mad at him when he doesn't. Every child is different, keep trying different methods. My oldest took two occaisions to pee in his own pants to grasp the idea at age 3, my youngest refused to learn until he was 4. Don't fret, eventually every child gets it. I have yet to see a 10 year old still in diapers without being a special needs child. (and even then, they get it at some point)
Leave him alone, he's not ready yet.
Doesn't sound like he's ready. I tried potty training my son at 2 as well and no matter what trick I tried he just wasn't ready. Then around the time of his 3rd birthday he just started wanting to go. I switched him to underwear and he has been going since then. I would just give him time and if he wants to sit on the potty then let him and be sure to praise him even if he doesn't do anything. Good luck.
give him a few more months!
Buy him real underwear. If he wets them in them. Tell him to use the potty next time. Let him sit in them all day. That will teach him a lesson or two about how to use the potty.
stock up on the larger size diapers, because the little one may be not ready for that step yet. keep trying, and eventually, the kid will get the idea. hopefully, but if bribes and rewards didn't work, then I can hope it's just a matter of bad timing. good luck to you
my first son was potty trained before his 2nd birthday and my second son just got potty trained in February (he will be 3 on June 30th) every child is different and i don't think you should push it on him. they will get tired of being in a dirty diaper. my son finally got to the point that as soon as he pooped he was wanting a change, we used to have to run after him because he was so into his toys and playing. i know it's frustrating but boys will be boys and every child is different. he will let you know when he is ready. make it a big ordeal when he goes and congradulate him and clap and maybe little by little he will be more involved. GOOD LUCK!!
I seriously admire your patience. Try this out. To pee or to potty is direct result of something geting inside our body, which now has to come out. Rather than waiting for your cute child to alert you, won't it be better if you could control these nature calls, atleast for training purposes. Try giving him ample quantity of fluids. It would normally take him 20 minutes to fill his bladder post a handsome intake. You can then be prepared for his short alert. Similarly on food items, for small children it takes around 2-3 hours to digest the food. Depending on his frequecy of food intake you can monitor his potty habits. Once you know when he is going to pee or potty, you can then guide him to toilet. Additionally, rather than TV, Toys or incentives, play light music. Also lemme give a secret out. Take him to his potty and make psssssssssssssssssssss sound for some time. It is a sure shot solution. He would merely pee whereever you want.

Since Bush's dad was president, and he could get special advice, why did he have such a bad presidency?

Because he is an imbecile.Since Bush's dad was president, and he could get special advice, why did he have such a bad presidency?
Because Bush Senior was a rotten President as well. I remember back in 1992 the economy was so bad as well as unemployment. There was a new hotel in Chicago opening with 1,000 jobs. More than 10,000 people came and stood in line to apply. This made world news. Clinton used this as an example of Bush's inability to run the country. I was one of those persons wanting one of the jobs. I got it and worked there for 16 years. Just using this an example showing Bush Juniors failings on this very same issue.Since Bush's dad was president, and he could get special advice, why did he have such a bad presidency?
He had GREAT advisors when he first took office. But when they all resigned, each one said that Bush refuses to listen to anybody. That was Colin Powell's biggest frustration with Bush.

A smart leader surrounds himself with fantastic advisors AND LISTENS TO THEM.

I doubt Bush listened to Big George any more than he listened to anybody else.

And it's a shame, too, 'cause his dad wasn't a half bad President.
Bad Presidency? Says who? He was elected TWICE. He made one serious error when he recommended we remove Hussein from Iraq to help stabilize the oil producing areas. Congress agreed with him and authorized the war. The liberal press along with the Democrats have been working now 7 years to re-write history and say Congress had nothing to do with it. It may now turn out that he won that argument as well because we are now winning in Iraq, even with the press and liberals against it. I don't know how he did it with all the nay Sayers screaming in his ear.

If it were not for the press hating him, he would have had a great ride. History will show he may have made errors, but he at least stuck to his guns and did what he said he was going to do. He certainly did not ';Flip-Flop'; with the polls or pressure from the press. Thank god we had him after 911. I hope to god we don't have a ';flipper'; when the next one comes.
His dad also had a terrible presidency. This is just a repeat double of what Bush senior was like. I think the main problem is that they are so wealthy (from oil) that they simply don't care about the lives of the poor or those in lower social classes. Reagan was the same. ';Anything for profit'; could have been the slogan of all of them.
Because he took what he thought were his father's two biggest ';mistakes'; -- working with Democrats to compromise on legislation, and not trying to take over Iraq -- and did the exact opposite, and both turned out to be disastrous. I usually didn't like the elder Bush, and I still think he was more harmful than helpful, but on those two questions he was right, and the younger Bush has been wrong.
Because he wouldn't listen I suppose. Bush Sr. handled the first Gulf War very well. I don't agree with many aspects of his presidency, but he was an intelligent man who did not flail about aimlessly - he listened to intel and acted accordingly. The first Gulf war had clear objectives and lasted 1 year. Jr's war is going on 5 years now, has done nothing but waste lives and money, and no end in sight.

His father also learned from history - you can't occupy Iraq. I think the British proved that last century very clearly when they did what we are repeating today. Jr don't like book learnin it seems.
In case you did not notice, Bush a much different brand of

Republican than his father. Bush I was almost a caricature

of the upper middle-class WASP, a pursed-lipped, uptight,

irascible, elderly New England moderate, wagging his finger

and nagging people about abortion, school prayer, and good

citizenship. Bush II, on the other hand, was a hard-line

fundamentalist evangelical conservative and Texan, in no

mood for compromise on any policy idea, regardless of its

    fruits.
According to psychologists (';Bush on the Couch'; 2003), Li'l Bush hates the old man completely and totally. Li'l Bush was going to do daddy one better and invade Iraq - as he saw his father as cowardly for not doing that back during the Gulf War.

Li'l Bush is a psychopath - the very worst choice which could have ever made. He's a man so entirely incompetent that he can hardly put a sentence together - and he's worse under pressure.

He needs to be tried for war crimes and put in Federal prison.
Because he did NOT listen. DADDY had thought about going on into Baghdad, his advisers advised him against it. All the reasons that had given DADDY were valid. junior wanted to avenge Saddam's threat to kill DADDY, so junior disregarded everyone and went on with his quest for his ';legacy';, well boys %26amp; girls guess what? Daddys advisers were correct, every thing they had said would happen, did in fact happen. DADDY smart....junior DUMB...many died because of his lies.
Bush will go down as one of the greatest President's of all time. Any current President takes his share of hits but history will realize that President Bush contributed greatly to the end of worldwide terrorism and that he was a principal influence for peace in the middle east.
His dad at least tried to move the country forward. George the son was only concerned with having the power of the president contained in the White House, not using it for the benefit of American citizens.
In an interview, Mr. Bush said that he rarely spoke about politics to his dad! I think George Bush has done his best for a good Presidency in the most difficult of times! The best advice is useless if something is going to get in its way!
*bush 43 has a 91 I.Q. .he is a puppet , controlled by a shadow government conspiracy ( probably the tri-lateral commission ) bent on global domination . a 'new world order' novus ordo seclorum . obey .
Advice such as ';Don't try to occupy Iraq';? That's something the elder Bush believed, but apparently the son wasn't paying any attention. Ineffective as I think George HW Bush was, he certainly shines by comparison.
Becasue his dad was also a bad president. so he could only advise on being such.
Because Bush the first wasn't that great either, but his son is twice as bad
I dont think he had a bad presidency.
George H W Bush has an IQ of 89 (80 is borderline mental retardation).
I guess its because he keeps his pants on when he's in the oval office.
    ';It all depends on what the word is means.';

Now that was a good president?
because his dad was a bad president too!
    Cause his dad sucks too!
    he doesn't listen very well.
    he lacks a brain
In order to answer, you are requiring that we accept your premise that his presidency was bad. Why did he win re-election?

Im an 18 year old girl looking to get into the porn industry. Any advice?

Might I suggest modelling and acting for Bren Ryder and her company Good Dyke Porn (don't worry, they do boy/girl scenes as well as girl/girl, although everything has a ';queer'; flavor to it)? Bren is located in Canada, and is definitely a friendly and safe environment, very reputable.

    You can contact her here:

    Good luck, and be safe!
Don't listen to the first answer, I think she is refering to the Silicon Valley in No. Calif. and not the valley in LA. You want LA. Canoga Park is the headquarters for porn. As well as Ventura Blvd.

The problem is that you have to start near the bottom, unless you are super hot and have multiple talents. It won't be easy.

Try Lucky Media. They are middle of the road. You need to make a name for yourself before Vivid or any of the top names give you a shot. Now, Vivid can help you by referring other companies that they have relationships with. DO NOT send them video of you doing porn. Making an appointment is the key.

You need to be mentally prepared, because it is not what you think it is. It is degrading for a women with self esteem those first few shoots.
Move to Los Angeles, that's where a lot of porn are shot. And also, you can maybe try googling for internet sites that are based near your area, because then you get some experience in working, and the pay will be good too.
If you're beautiful and you're slim, get into modeling industry or being an actress!

What's good about being a porn star, don't you respect your body just more than that?
Not much to say but keep it clean and make good choices, make sure people really are who they say they are because you never know with so many people in this world trying to scam everyone.
    move to silicon valley california

  • I just got a tattoo on my right foot on friday (it's now Monday). Need to get some aftercare/shoe advice?

I am sore, scabby and red. It doesn't really look infected, just sore. I am a nurse and have to wear socks and tennis shoes at work. I am concerned about the effect wearing this will have on my tattoo's healing well. Should I bandage it? Leave it open? It's very sore tonight because I had to wear shoes all day. Boy does that hurt!! Anyway, this tatto was painful and the healing has been painful too. Any advice on the shoe situation would be appreciated. Something I read said I should be barefoot for 3 months. Impossible!! Anyone who's been in this same situation? ThanksI just got a tattoo on my right foot on friday (it's now Monday). Need to get some aftercare/shoe advice?
I think the best advice for you is to talk to your tattoo artist. Because what works for some might not work for you. I have a tattoo on my right foot also, but I usually wear sandals and when it got really sore...I was wearin soft fuzzy slippers. But I really think your best path is to talk the person who did your tattoo, they are the experts on that. Good luck!I just got a tattoo on my right foot on friday (it's now Monday). Need to get some aftercare/shoe advice?
It's not a good idea to wear socks and sneakers while your tattoo is healing. Something like flip flops are recommended if you wear shoes around. Keep it clean and use aquaphor on it.
Barefoot for three months is not as impossible as you think. The following website has over 1100 members who live thier lives barefoot. Some members have been barefoot for years. I have been barefoot for almost a year now and have much healthier and stronger feet as a result. Bacteria needs a warm, dark, moist environment to live and breed, your shoes are incubarors. loose the shoes. Its more fun and comfortable without them anyway.

Have any advice on how to get a job?

I really need a job to support myself. I live in San Diego, CA and have less then a year of experience as a valet. I am young obviously, and am frustrated by the results of my search. I have a monster account, check out criagslist and simply walk into places to apply. What else can I be doing?Have any advice on how to get a job?
Goto your local community center or employment center they will have tons of jobs on classfieds. Places like charity help out centers, they'll have jobs too.

Goto university sites for help. Goto UC san diego , go in their student center see if they got post boards for jobs. pick up their campus newspaper or any periodicals they'll have classifieds inside.

You dont have any work experience, so for you to be looking for jobs on major websites like monster or craigslist might be abit hard.

Career advisor once said ';80% of jobs out there are usually not listed, it only spreads by word of mouth or past kept record of a database.'; You can just walk into the places where you want to work and ask them if they are hiring. They 'll usually say ';not at the moment';, but they'll ask you leave your contacts and sometimes you do get the call.

I got myself a job in the sony center that way.

Or worst comes worst if you still can't find a job and you hungry..you can rub your a$s with coconut oil in one of them cowboy night clubs in San diego then you get tons of tips from them hungry female audiences to get thru the week. But reserve this for your absolute last resort.....

I would like some more, personal advice on how to get over your first love plz?

It's been a week and im doing better but it still hurts. And i feel dumb for the sacrifices i made for him. Plus it'd be nice to talk to someone who's going through the same thing. We were together for a while.

ThanksI would like some more, personal advice on how to get over your first love plz?
I'm not going though the same thing right now but I have been there. It's going to take time to get over him. There is no magical way to just make the pain disappear. You'll think of him, want to pour your heart out to him, or sometimes just wish things was just the way they were. but if you want to get over him you will have to keep moving forward. Also learn from it and how dumb you feel. Take your time to really get to know the next person that you get into a relationship with.

Where do I get general advice?..?

Not a good title, but I'm not sure how to word it.

I have a few general questions concerning my education and other things in my life. I don't know many people or family. I was wondering if there is some sort of support group or anything that exist on this sort of thing. if so, what would it be called?Where do I get general advice?..?
What kind of support group? MIght have to be more specific. As there are some support group or organisation about depression and all that. Or about your education, there are tutors? Library?

But general advice, probably... a psychologist... these guys doesnt prescribe you with drugs but more about helping you with direction in life.

I was once feeling like this, but my friend is a bookstore. Yep a Bookstore, there are tons of self help books around there. Although i didnt even know what i was doing there at first but sooner you'll find what you'll looking for.

You take goodcare man. I hope for you the best to find your path.

FizWhere do I get general advice?..?
well, that is very vague. How old are you?

if it is college, you can go through any academic office and they will point you in the direction of who you should speak with. If in high school or middle school, talk with a guidance counselor at school; they can help you with any topic from education to 'other things in your life'.

Other than that, your question is very vague, maybe you need a therapist to talk some things through?
I would ask to see your school guidance counsellor, mental health counsellor, or the head of your year.

I couldn't find any jeans that fit right either, until I found custom made jeans. I get mine at Make Your Own Jeans. They're only $48.00 and you have total control over the style, fit, cut, rise, length, everything. I just love them. You even have choices of different cute pockets and other embellishments. They look great and they're so comfortable because they fit perfectly.

I suggest staying away from Levis. They're too loose in the crotch area and upper legs.
Levi's fit everyone. Seriously. I also buy jeans at American Eagle but they aren't as comfortable. Just go to a department store and try on different types.

Well what always grabs the audience's attention is by having a really unexpected or attention grabbing introduction. Seeing as your topic is on pessimists and optimists you could start with a joke like..

e.g. Is this glass half full or half empty?

    - Explain what that joke means

    - Information on pessimists and optimists

    - Your views on the topic, and whether you are a pessimist or an optimist and how you think this could affect your everyday life

    - A good conclusion

Hope this helps you, good luck!

Take an honest look at your personality. Are you a pessimist or an optimist? When the clouds of concern sweep into your emotional life, do you look down and complain about them? Or do you search the clouds for the silver lining of opportunity. There have been some interesting studies done concerning these two personality types. Researchers have found that people who are pessimistic are generally more realistic about life than their optimistic sisters and brothers. Optimists tend to gloss over obstacles and minimize problems. They don鈥檛 create a balanced picture of circumstances. They also tend to idealize situations disproportionately.I need advice on how to write a speech that will get me an ';A'; in 3 hours or less!!?

Any advice for newborn dads? Like how to help her sleep, how much nursing should she get?

She's been eating so differently. Only 11 days old. She used to eat every three hours, then it went to 4, now its down to every 2 hours during day, sometimes she only goes for 10 minutes on one side. It's just tough to regulate, should I be trying this early?Any advice for newborn dads? Like how to help her sleep, how much nursing should she get?
I commend you for being and active Dad. Let her tell you when she is hungry at this age..she is growing rapidly and it depends on how active she is and how long she sleeps as to how often she will usually feed. Again, Kudos for helping with her...I'm sure your wife really appreciates it...even if she might be a little moody from the whole experience.Any advice for newborn dads? Like how to help her sleep, how much nursing should she get?
Congrats on the baby. Newborn babies eat often and not regularly. they should always be fed when hungry, there is no regulating. Trying to put them on a schedule causes alot of distress and frustration on both sides. All babies are different. They will eat on weird schedules till you start with solid foods one a 3-4 meal/ day schedule for her with your meals. Newborns sleep for 18-20 hrs a day and continue at about 16hrs/day for 6 mos, then about 14 for 2 yrs. They are growing so much they need their sleep. youll see that often a tired baby is a fussy baby. Also studies show that about 70% of sucking is non-nutritional, so buy a binky, so that mommy doesnt become a human-pacifier.

Very Important. At bedtime make the room quiet and dark, with bed already. Have a quiet bath before, sing softly, and rub on some lavender lotion. In the room put on some classical music or Enya. In a soft voice read a short story, pat her back in a heart-beat 1,2 pattern, rock. At night, do not turn on alot of lights to change diapers or do stuff, if she wakes up continue with the soft calm singing and patting/rocking, do not engage in play even when she gets older. As she gets older she will gradually develop a longer period of sleep around mid-afternoon (a naptime), this time should also be in her room, quiet, dark, soft music, etc.

For a newborn its ok to let her cry for 5 mins, she'll learn that you will come rescue her, dont let her cry for more though. And encourage mom alot with nursing, bring her a pillow, glass of water, footrest, anything she needs. After nursing 3, I can safely say that nursing can be difficult and frustrating, it is a LEARNED behavior. Dont forget that you can never spoil a baby. Studies show taht babies who are held ALOT are more confidant, cry less, and happier, with less signs of anxiety/distress
Sometimes you get a lazy eater... they should nurse for atleast 15-20 minutes per breast. Breast fed babies usually eat every 2 hours, if you supplement with formula that fills them up more so they go longer between feedings.

Sleep.... I have an 18 year old and still don't sleep all night. But both of my girls liked music. I had a radio tuned to a classical music station that I kept on all night tuned very low, and they both slept well. Or atleast until they got hungry.

Never turn on a bright light for night feedings and rock gently and they should fall back to sleep pretty quick.

I need advice for debating. I am always on the short side of time limit, and get really nervous.?

Your nervousness is probably causing you to speak really fast,;so you need twice as much info.

In a one hour search organization is the key; you have to choose your opinion and the argument you want to prove quickly and get on the computer and search don't ask other people and have to wait for an answer. Get your own answers.

    The key is organization!

About the nervousness, if you truly believe in your argument within the first 30 seconds your nerves should calm down and your passion take over, try breathing deeply before you stand up.

Good luck, it will get better the more experience you get.

I suppose that this would be a potentially criminal matter so, you could request a public defender. You may, however, want to discuss this with a criminal lawyer and see what they would charge to help you, or have them direct you to a legal aid service that may provide you with free legal assistance.

I am very thin and have a small body frame; I want to get pregnant. Any advice on things I should take care of?

I have a 24 inch waist.. and 5 feet tall and weigh around 45 kgs.

I have concerns whether its safe to get pregnant... I will talk to a doctor for advice; but also wanted to hear from mothers who like me have a smaller body frame...

thanks so much for your inputsI am very thin and have a small body frame; I want to get pregnant. Any advice on things I should take care of?
My mother was your size when she got pregnant with me. She had no complications during the pregnancy, she birthed me naturally and I was born healthy and normal. Certainly talk to your doctor and see what they have to say about possible problems.I am very thin and have a small body frame; I want to get pregnant. Any advice on things I should take care of?
Don't worry figure not a problem for pregnancy
.......Yes midgets get pregnant and are half your size...Many of which give birth to full sized babies

Which CPU To Get Any Advice?

For a gaming pc, with ddr3 ram, what cpu would you suggest i get?Which CPU To Get Any Advice?
Core i7 all the way I don't care what anybody says, it runs any game I've tried so far with not a single problemWhich CPU To Get Any Advice?
IMO you should get either an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (or) an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300. Both are great processors for gaming and around $180 brand new. Around $300 you could get an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 which is a blazing fast cpu...but a bit pricy. And if money is not an option there is always the Intel Core i7-975 (or) the Intel Core 2 EXTREME PROCESSOR QX9775. Hope this helped. Good luck!
Get an AMD phenom II x4 cpu.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis鈥?/a>

Don't get an i7. The reason being is that the i7 cpu forces you to buy an overpriced, under-utilized x58 motherboards whose sole purpose is to provide four pci-e x16 lanes.
Check out benchmarks on Tomshardware.com to help you out.

For Far Cry 2, the I7's and Core2Extreme and a few Core 2 Quads Scored higher Frame Rates then any of the AMD Procs

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 will probably give you the best bang for your buck.
For gaming and over clocking of systems, AMD seems to be the better of the two. Because their CPU's seem to take abuse better then intel.

Can I get a nurse's or doctors advice please?

I can only see a doctor next week, and I'm a little worried. I've been extremely dizzy and confused for about 1 or 2 weeks now. I'm always sleepy and it's hard for me to focus. I've been having headaches very often, especially where my forehead is. My troat is a little sore at times, but not often. I've always been having trouble digesting food lately.

Advice would be highly appreciated!!Can I get a nurse's or doctors advice please?
why do you have to wait to see a doctor? i would say go to the ER and get checked out immediately dizzy and confusion are not something to wait around for an office visit

and don't drive yourself have a friend or family member drive you...Can I get a nurse's or doctors advice please?
Time to hit the emergency room. Take some water, drink lots of it. Have a friend drive you and keep you company (ER is boring and you will be low on the triage list), but dizzy and confused with a headache is not good. Just be safe and go.
I agree that you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Im not a doctor, but have you looked at the symptoms of mono?
i get like that sometimes and have been getting tired a lot when i used to stay up all night without a problem

I use this site for 2 reasons...to get advice when wikipedia doesn't work, and to make fun of people...?

I find it fun when i search for questions that ask ';Am I too fat?'; and just tell them that they are. I know i could get banned, but I don't really care...i'm not asking if i'm an evil person or anything, i've known that i am since I was 6, but i'm asking...why do people become so much more openly dick-ish on the inter-web? I'm evil at heart, but i'm nice to.....some people...in real life. Sort of. Well, i'm not as bad as I am online, and I don't care, but i just wanna know why?

Anyone know why we're more brutal on the webbernet than in real life?I use this site for 2 reasons...to get advice when wikipedia doesn't work, and to make fun of people...?
    1. Lack of real consequences.

You might be banned, but it isn't certain, and I know of very few people who actually get banned. Also, it's in the company's best interest to have you continue to view their site, so they don't want to keep you banned. A temporary ban of an hour or a day is nothing! You can always go create a new account if it bothers you.

Compare this to the chance of being beaten up by someone for your comments. Again, the chance might not be high for that level of comment, but the pain lasts a LOT longer.

    2. Empathy is based on visible and audible cues.

You can't see the poor fat kid crying after reading your post, or the way that their voice wavers when they ask a desperate question in an attempt to gain some meager level of self-respect. Without seeing those signs, your empathy isn't triggered. You don't feel like you're picking on someone who already has had enough, so you don't feel bad for doing it.

Empathy is also involved in intimidation and friendship building. You can't see any of the normal cues that would cause you to think that this is a person worthy of befriending or attempting to continue associating with. You can't tell that this person is incredibly confident and strong.

    3. These people aren't your friends.

On an anonymous network like this, you have little to no chance of actually connecting with someone and valuing them as a friend, so there is little direct personal value in being polite to them.

    4. People are more likely to ask personal, foolish question on an anonymous site.

How many strangers walk up to you on the street and ask ';Am I too fat?'; ';Could I be pregnant?'; The opportunities just aren't there.

    5. You can run and hide more easily.

Physical contact means that you and the other person live in the same town, or at east have reason to frequent the same areas. If you're a jerk in real life while buying groceries, you may run into that person again. You'd have to change where you buy groceries or specifically travel to a store far away in order to be a jerk. It's simply easier to be polite than to be a jerk.

On-line, you can hide easily. Many sites have the ability to block other people or ignore them. It's easy to skim past their posts or messages without even reading them.

    6. The people who see you insult someone won't be believed by others, and certainly not by anyone you care about.

Sure, sometimes a community gets together and kicks someone out for being a jerk. However, how often do people believe accusations of this kind of behavior on-line? I've recently had difficulty with someone in a fairly tight-knit on-line group of friends, but I haven't even bothered mentioning it to the group at large because there is really no concrete proof that I could present. I take a screenshot, or show a message? He can claim I sent him a private message that caused him to respond that way.

It's more difficult to get away with persistent negative behavior in real life because your friends will catch on and persecute you for it.

That said, I'd be more impressed if you mockingly responded with something more interesting than ';Yes, you're too fat!'; Sure, it takes a moderate amount of effort to get used to it at first, but eventually you'll get used to thinking your insults. Try writing a paragraph about the inherent sexism in uncertainties about size.I use this site for 2 reasons...to get advice when wikipedia doesn't work, and to make fun of people...?
yeahh I think you should grow up, and I'm 14. Haha :)
Because there's no chance for confrontation and retribution. In my book...that's bullying and a sure sign of cowardice.
you mean you don't understand why you're being that way online?

Its because you don't get any repercussion from being dick-ish online. People can't hurt you here. So you do what you want

but in real life, mess with the wrong people and they may get very physical with you, and you're afraid of that. You only dare to be an a$$ when you know the other side cant do anything to you.

In real life, you are afraid of the consequences. you are afraid of what people will do to you.
Because you ain't face to face, so you ';loose the rules';.

As for Wikipedia, not all that info is true, so be careful my evil and nice friend.

    :-)
i think cause people are cowards and they know that people on here won't ever know them so they won't have any consequences for what they say.

  • Why do my younger sisters do everything I do and get everything i get? Any advice on how to make them stop?

It's called love and admiration. They will grow out of it eventually. When you're older you'll appreciate it more. If it bothers you that much try talking to them and explaining that it makes you uncomfortable. Why do my younger sisters do everything I do and get everything i get? Any advice on how to make them stop?
Sure - try to interest them in something that you're not as interested in. ACT interested.....but try to teach them that it's okay to like something new and different, this will make them special. It worked for my big sis!Why do my younger sisters do everything I do and get everything i get? Any advice on how to make them stop?
i'd say beat them! well, to an extent. my sister does the same thing and once i hit her in the leg, she stops. lol.
well it seems they are jealous, and maybe they look up to you.they think you are cool, and what ever big sis does they wanna do.as far as making them stop,it depends on how ols they are,a way younger sibling may be crushed, lol.good luck

and just think of it as they love their big sis and wanna be like her.
When your sisters copy you that is the GREATEST form of flattery.

You should be proud, be a great role model, because they love you!
Take it as flattery. They want to be like you.
she wants to be like you. she is going to follow you're foot steps. be a good big sister
As an older sister I know how frustratingly angry this can make you, just know in your heart that you parents have found you to be a responsible test model and so the younger ones get to follow.....mind you with my own kids if I said to the oldest you have to wait till X the the other had to wait till X and they didn't mind.
You sould be glad they admire you this way. They love you and ';want'; to be like you. They will always look up to you as their ';Big Sister';. You will love this memory someday. Don't spoil it ....just let them do it. Trust me...I am an older sister too. :-)
you really cant they look up to you, they want to be like you dress like you say what you say, you should be happy because when they get older they really wont talk to you
lol!! this remind me when my sister use to do the same thing to me. this is normal. they just looking up to you. it's hard be the oldest!! they will stop eventually.
the only way is to ask her why she does it one reason is that she has an inferiority complex and the only cure to that is to love her
They look up to you, they admire you.
They don't grow out of it. You learn to live with it.

Someday they will beat you to it...and you will be MORE FRUSTRATED THAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking of getting medium format camera, want to get advice on quality and pricing?

Hey everyone. I was thinking of getting a medium format camera. I know a bit about them but some things are a bit confusing, such as film backs. Basically as I understand one can get a medium format body, but this would not be enough. Ofcourse there is lenses, but as I understand there is also film back, and viewfinders that are seperate from the camera itself. I was thinking of getting Pentax 67, but they seem a bit expensive for a first medium format, but then again maybe it makes sense to invest into a system that will worth it in a long run. Any suggestions/links would be greatly appreciated. ThanksI was thinking of getting medium format camera, want to get advice on quality and pricing?
    The Pentax has been discontinued.

The Mamiya 645, RB67 and Hasselblad 6x6 are the three to choose from, since they are still being made and digital backs are available for them

Look for them on craigslist in a city near you.

Sample offerings here in the Phoenix area.

So much of what you asked depends on the camera. Yes, the Pentax is discontinued, but they are certainly still available. KEH is a great source for used equipment and as a pricing source. There is also always EBay. I have bought many items there with never a problem, but there is always risk. B-H also has a good used department.

Here is the link for KEH:

Personally, I use a Mamiya 645e. This does not have a removable back, but rather a removable insert that accepts 120 or 220 film. It is an SLR type camera, with built in eye level viewfinder. Light and easy to hand hold. The Mamiya RZ 67 is a terrific camera and offers the larger 6 x 7 cm negative size, but the camera is quite large. It uses the waist level finder, but can be fitted with an eye level finder. The Mamiya 7II camera is a rangefinder design, which has advantages and disadvantages over the SLR, but does produce the nice, large 6 x 7 negatives.

This is just a huge topic that cannot be easily answered here. You will just need to study various forums. I suggest you use the medium format forum on Photo.net. Many experienced MF film users there that can help you out.

I have a Boy issue. Need Advice. The Faster I get advice, the faster I'll Know what I should do.?

I think that I like this boy and I wanted to know if I should add him as a friend on myspace?

I asked 2 of my relatives and they said no. I want to add him, but then again I dont think I should, because I dont want him to think that I have any interest in him because apearantly he has a girlfriend. We live in 2 different states and he's my cousins friend. I didn't make it obvious that I thought he was cute but I caugt him checking me out more times than I could count. What should I do? If you have any advice or stories at all, feel free to share. I am open to other views on this topic.I have a Boy issue. Need Advice. The Faster I get advice, the faster I'll Know what I should do.?
hey well just because u want to add him as a friend to my space doesnt mean nuffin its just like adding another friend to ur list i dnt c y u shouldnt tink bout it if his on myspace u can chat to him get to know him n then he might tell u that him n his gf have split up n u will be his shoulder to cry on so to speak.I have a Boy issue. Need Advice. The Faster I get advice, the faster I'll Know what I should do.?
i don't see a problem with adding him to your myspace. It's not even as forward as asking for his number. It should be fine.
you can add him on myspace without people thinking that you like him... I mean myspace is for friends not just for lovers. But... if you want to have a relationship with him, i wouldn't do it. He lives in a different state. How can you trust him?

Getting advice from friends who are older than you is more valuable than friends with your same age.?

I think we can get many good advices from different friends.

Do you agree with my opinion?Getting advice from friends who are older than you is more valuable than friends with your same age.?
i think for me personally i'd rather take advice from ppl that are close to my age.. bcoz they can relate to my situations.. but moz importantly is what u decide for yrself.. u can take advices from a lot of ppl.. but the bottom line is you hv 2 choose among all the suggestions and choose the bez 4 yrself.. bcoz no 1 knows you better than you..Getting advice from friends who are older than you is more valuable than friends with your same age.?
Yeah. It's good to hear both point's of view. The older friend could have gone through it and knows what to do. But the friend that is the same age might now a bit more about the situation you're in and their help might be better. It all depends on the friends, people, age, and situation.
getting good advice even from a child is valuable
Everyone has different opinions/advice. I don't think there is any ';better'; advice from people. Just ask and you will receive. Older people have gone through more, and what you will hear is what they did back then to move on or something. There are some young people who are Love experts, Friend experts, some old people are wise, and they can tell you much.

JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS.... I am not pregnant..i was trying to get advice for my friend!!!!!!?

thank you!JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS.... I am not pregnant..i was trying to get advice for my friend!!!!!!?
what kind of advice did you want? you can ask for your friend...JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS.... I am not pregnant..i was trying to get advice for my friend!!!!!!?
    thats cool then.
What sort of advice do you want?
Yeah when I was 16 I told my doctor that my friend Mary yeah that's her name Mary thought she was pregnant and what should she do *wink *wink

Why do men always have to give women advice? Why can't they just let us get things together on our own?

I have a friend who gave me advice on how to grow up...I know that I am only 16,but do I really need him telling me that I need to grow up when he's in (basically) the same position I am?Why do men always have to give women advice? Why can't they just let us get things together on our own?
    Read a book called ';Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus';

There is a section in it about men being ';Mr. Fix it.'; When we see something that is a ';problem'; in our minds we naturally tend to want to fix it. Thats just how a lot of guys are.

I have to ask if maybe you are doing something that makes him think you need his help? Do you talk to him about your problems a lot or complain to him about things? Typically guys don't just offer up advice unless asked...unlike women who just give advice freely even when its unwelcome :) Sorry girls but its true. Why do men always have to give women advice? Why can't they just let us get things together on our own?

In my life have learned that women, most of the time, just want us (men) to listen to them not fix the problem. But the nature of a man is we talk about things with someone only if we are looking for help with a solution. So a women is merely venting and a man is seeing this venting as asking for a solution. Do agree with the poster the say read men are from mars women are from venus. Its just the way men and women are wired and even though I know that my wife might be merely venting still catch myself trying to solve the problem.
Men are fixers. Women like to complain or talk about something, and all we want to do is get it off our chest and talk about it.

Men think, if we brought it up, we expect them to fix it.

Sometimes I have to just bite my tongue about bringing certain things up, because I know I will get some kind of 'solution' to my problem.
Yes, that is it. Men are fixers. As women we aren't always looking for a solution. We just want someone to listen. Sometimes stating the problem out loud is the only solution we need. It makes us feel better to vent and get it off our chests, and boy, can it be irritating to have the person you are telling it to try to come up with ideas to fix it. Sound's crazy...I know.
Men are raised, and its in our DNA, to solve problems and fix things. When we see a woman that we love or care about we want to make it all better for them.

What we dont realize is that you dont want that help or you will specifically ask for it. Otherwise you are just venting.

Ahh the subtle differences between men and women.
We all grow at our own pace acording to our enviroment and individual personalities and if he is more mature than u in some areas that is normal, maybe u are more advanced in others. Take a good look at the situation. Is he bossy, or needy.
    %26amp; you're asking us for advice? ;)

Us men just like to feel superior. :p
Girls or Women usually seek the advise of a boy or man. They usually need to be steered toward the best course of action.

Women don't know what's best for them. They operate soley off of emotion and it always ends up getting them hurt. Men are more logical and can give them sound advice.
well, girls are always complaining to guys about every stupid little thing, guys just assume you need advice.

why else would girls keep talking and talking and talking and talking....
Because guys think they are the smartest thing since sliced bread. Which is true, they are about as smart as sliced bread. lol.
For the same reason that women are always calling men ';immature'; and telling us how to live our lives.
the same reason women give unwanted advice i suppose
    ?
Let me give you a piece of advice... you both need to grow up
    Chuck is right.
will in his eyes your immature anyways!

thats just how some guys are they tell things that you don't want to know or hear

  • Where can I get advice on buying a telescope for viewing astronomical objects?

My level of interest is: serious amateur.

My main use will be to view planets, galaxies, nebulae, comets, the moon, the sun, etc.

I want to do some astrophotography with it.

It must have a motor drive, preferably GPS, and either a built-in database of celestial objects or an interface with a computer, so that I can easily locate known objects without a lot of time and effort

I'm willing to spend up to about $4,000.

I know of Sky %26amp; Telescope magazine, and of Astronomy magazine. Are there other magazines and/or websites that would help educate and guide me to choosing the best telescope for my purposes? I know I can just use a search engine, but thought I'd tap into people's experience with these and other sites.

I'm also interested in direct advice from any serious amateur (or expert!) on features and specs to look for, and quality brand names.Where can I get advice on buying a telescope for viewing astronomical objects?
The best forum is www.astromart.com. Cloudynights.com is OK but suffers from a few defects. For one thing it is over-moderated, people with strong opinions are often censored. For another thing is overly weighted with newbies in people on a tight budget. A better forum is Astromart. At your budget level you owe it to yourself.

There is a one-time joining fee of $12. If you go for a long period without logging on, or change your email, you may have to rejoin again.

What you get: It's the New York Stock Exchange of used equipment. You can learn tons just by cruising the ads. There is also an archive of old ads so you can get good price data before you buy used. What you also get: several dozen discussions group. The one you want is ';Equipment.'; (You're beyond the group for newbies).

I'm not going to offer you any advice. I've got several telescope configurations which I use on a variety of German Equatorial and one alt-azimuth dob. I have sunk four or five times what you've budgeted into the hobby over the years. The used market is a real blessing, helps save on a lot of critical items. It also means that if you don't like anything you can get most of your money back out of it.

Now, the astromart discussion groups are the best on the Internet, and here's why. We have a zillion Yahoo! groups on astronomy, but they are bad sources for information because if you go on a refractor group everyone loves refractors (for example); and even the supposedly ecumenical ';telescopes'; group is weighted to towards Newtonians in dobson configurations (almost any group that accommodates beginners will be); that's why you got the load of nonsense about charts from another post (I can go anywhere with or without a computer; charts are fine, I have several Atlases and sky software, and digital setting circles, so I am familiar with all the basic systems. A nice computer is hard to beat).

Take these things with you to Astromart to chew over:

reliability: go-to systems are more complex than non-go to. You can have tracking on a German equatorial, and pointing with a computer; this is called DSC systems. Argo Navis is the leading dsc bar none.

The computer: the options are plug in your laptop (the Software Bisque or Sky Map Pro, and other options); have a hand paddle with controls (most go-to systems) or a side attached box where you push the telescope to the object and stop where the system tells you to stop.

Environmental requirements: Working in extreme cold (under 20F) places different requirements. Dew is another killer. SCTs are extremely vulnerable to dew; refractors are ';fairly vulnerable';, Newtonians are most impervious.

Tracking: every configuration these days can track. For Dobson designs there is stellarCAT, almost all German equatorials track, that is their purpose in life.

Field rotation: notwithstanding that all telescopes can track, not all tracking is the same. Equatorial mounts maintain the same relative position to the sky. If you have a star in the center and a star ';on the left'; in your field of view, an hour later it will still be that way. On an alt-azimuth tracking system (dobs and fork mounted SCTs, usually) there will be field rotation. The star on the left will ';move'; to another position: over 12 hours it will move 180 degrees. Still in the same field of view, the star in the center still remain centered, but if you were doing a long exposure image, the star that has changed its rotational position will be a streak. A long galaxy would rotate in the field of view of an alt-az mounted scope like a plane propeller in super slow motion. I don't want to explain the geometry here but the basic schtick is: equatorial mounts=no field rotation, alt-azimuth=field rotation.

Photography requirements. The possible configurations are too many to discuss here. Do you want to image planets and the moon or galaxies and nebulae? The type of telescope you buy depends on your choice. For planets buy a Celestron 9.25 SCT. You want the combination of aperture and long focal length. For big nebulae get a small short focal length apochromatic refractor. For beginners in general short focal length instruments are more tolerant of tracking issues that bedevil newcomers. You'll have to decide between a ccd system and a digital single lens reflex (both used for deep sky) or a web cam (for planets) or get both. Stuff to talk about.

Stability: Not all configurations have the same stability in wind.

Other: Short exposure photography is more tolerant of different equipment configurations (short exposures reduce the importance of field rotation and jitters in the mount). As you prolong your exposure time you get more demanding of the mount.

Mount: In general the mount is extremely critical for any kind of imaging and you should plan on spending more on the mount than the optic. In terms of stability, weight combined with length, short fat and ugly is best. SCTs (short length, lots of aperture) and fast refractors (short focal length refractors) are the instruments of choice (as a rule). Newts are extremely cost effective but keeping them stable on a tracking mount is difficult.

One of the problems in your query is that you want one telescope to do it all, and that places contradictory requirements on the discussion. The best thing for visual observing, as one person here put it, is 8 to 10 inches (or more). The best thing for a beginner in photography is something that tolerates errors in tracking but introduces very little false color. The 80 to 102mm refractors that fit that bill are expensive, however, and offer more limited satisfaction on deep sky (but actually there's a lot to be done with a 102mm refractor and just an eyepiece). It might be that a Celestron 8'; or a Celestron 9.25 on the comes-with German equatorial mount will be what you want for visual; if you buy a 60mm refractor on the side, you might be able to get your feet wet with nebula imaging. I agree with another post that ';imaging without frustration'; is more of a $10 to $20k proposition but it can be done on $4k. Hell I've taken pictures of the moon through my $200 family camera: for $15 I bought an adapter that screws it on to my eyepiece. Not good on other stuff, though.

Other things to think about: Meade no longer has a rep for quality. It is near bankruptcy. Check the archives on Yahoo! sct-user group. Planet imaging requires huge hard drives because you're in effect taking home movies and then processing them using statistical software like registax. Vixen is probably the best intermediate brand name, best in terms of quality reliability (mounts and optics). Losmandy is good too (mounts); Celestron is much better than Meade at this point. I generally stay away from anything from mainland China if there is any possibility of doing so. (Vixen is Japanese and outsources some low end stuff to China, but they are very serious about quality control; you take your chances. The high end names are all beyond your budget but include Takahashi (optics), TEC (optics), Astro-Physics (for mounts; their telescopes can only be bought used); Planewave (optics); RCOS (optics) and so on.

AFTER you have made some critical equipment choices, the various Yahoo groups are excellent places to get support and information. People will share how they have solved various problems. You won't get the religious wars over what's best as much because those decisions will have been made.

So those are the issues you should bring up on the forum of your choice, but in general, your best forum will be Astromart.Where can I get advice on buying a telescope for viewing astronomical objects?
Thanks 'gn'. If I had gotten back to this question in time to choose a best answer, yours would have been my choice -- and I did put in my own vote for you. I'm glad the community voted with me.

Thanks to the others, too, especially skymaster, twogordianknots, Bruce M, and Blue.

If you visit the UK head straight for London and locate a building called 'Telescope House'. There you will see a motley team of advanced astronomers who will give you some good tips and advice on serious astronomy. That is where I got most of my scopes from.
You might want to ask a similar question on physicsforums:

    http://www.physicsforums.com/

Real astronomers/physicists/students hang out there. I don't know much about commercial telescopes, by I have a feeling you would do best to avoid those glorified novelty shops (Brookstone, Sharper Image,...). They're like airplane catalogs in store form.
Woa, hang on a minute, you want to view planets, galaxies, nebulae, comets, the moon, the sun, etc. and want to do some astrophotography with it!?.

It seems pretty obvious to me you do not have any experience in using any sort of telescope. If you are as you say a serious amatuer, then such things as a motor drive, preferably GPS, and either a built-in database of celestial objects or an interface with a computer, so that you can easily locate known objects without a lot of time and effort is the wrong approach and gonna cost you dearly.

Most serious amatuers start out with the naked eye and a good set of charts to learn the sky and progress to binoculars long before they purchase a telecope.

I suggest that you learn the fundementals before you spend up to about $4,000 which is probably not sufficient if you want to do Astrophotography as well. The best advice is to join a club where you can try them out and decide which is best for you, not to jump into the deep end straight away before you can swim.

Having said that, if what you want is to view planets, galaxies, nebulae, the aperture of the scope is most important, which will need to be at least 8-10'; this may fit in your budget, but if you want to do astrphotography proper I would reccomend a good quality 4''-5'; apochromatic refractor such as a Takahashi, Astro-Physics or similar quality make, that will cost 3-5k. The mount needs to be as good as the telescope, at a cost of about 4-5k and then you will need a guidescope, say a small WO66ED, and of course a CCD camera which will set you back another 2-3k. This will need to be supported by good software which is also expensive, not to mention a laptop computer with at least 4GB RAM and a fast hard disk.

So you see your $4k is not going to be enough. To do all the things you want to do (including all the necessary accessories) will set you back about 10k.

If I were you I would spend much more time on visual work first, before you start thinking about astrophotography, which you clearly have not considered at all in any detail.

Good luck though, and welcome to the hobby.
    google
The absolute best forum to discover astronomy equiptment and the hobby in general is Cloudy Nights--www.cloudynights.com . A great many extremely knowledgable amateur astronomers along with a few professionals are frequent posters. It is by far the largest such community on the web.

IMHO, If you intend to primarily do visual astronomy, you should probably consider the Celestron CPC11. If you want a better photographic rig, you need to invest heavily in the mount, sacrificing telescope size for mount performance. That is, in visual astronomy you can get away with a cheaper mount that comes as part of a package from a major manufacturer but in astrophotography you cannot.
    Hi

Looks like you getting some good advice. The most important thing is to have fun with the hobby. Don鈥檛 drive yourself crazy trying to pick out the right scope because if you stay with the hobby you are going to own one of each type, refractor, reflector and SCT. Buy big enough to do the job but portable enough you will use it on a regular basis. The CPC Celestron 11 might be a little big but the CPC 9.25 might be more to your liking if it is too heavy you won鈥檛 use it. You will learn the night sky as you go along. The more you learn the more you will enjoy and the best source is your local Astronomy club. We have members that know the night sky very well and some that don鈥檛, I fall in the middle. I have always felt that there is no such thing as a selfish astronomer they are always willing to share the view and their knowledge.

Sounds like you want a fighter jet before you have a learner's permit for a car. You want a scope that can view every type of celestial object, and do the difficult job of astrophotography, and do the finding for you.

Get to know the sky first. How much experience do you have so far? If it's little or none, I strongly suggest finding an local amateur astronomy club. You can find out when they're having a night out, look through different scopes, and most importantly, get a realistic expectation of what you can see.
