basicly she goes to bed at 6.20 and wont got to sleep untill around 10 ish, my son is tired but cant sleep due to her running around and asking him 'are you awake'! iv tried everything, reading to her, bathing her, scaring her by runing up stairs wen she least expects it catching her running the taps, shutting her door! she gets up at 6 in the morning but never gets tired even tho she does ask for her dummy for a sleep (i dont let her tho)! any advice is apreciated! thanx!I hava a 3 year old girl and 4 year old boy, advice gettin get my girl to sleep as my son starts school soon?
as a mum of three i would advise that firstly keep your son's door closed so that he can sleep undisturbed
give her the same routine every night
dont give her things she asks for to help her sleep that is just playing along with a game she iis controlling
dont shout or even tell her off, just dont talk to her at all
put her in her bed and sit in the hallway - as soon as she gets out of her bed put her back in, all the time not speaking to her
if she starts crying or having a tantrum just ignore her
if you have to speak just say 2 words - 'its bedtime'
this will go on all night every night for about a week (at worst) but it is very effective and she will just suddenly start to learn what bedtime actually means
and your son will be able to sleep through it
good luck xxI hava a 3 year old girl and 4 year old boy, advice gettin get my girl to sleep as my son starts school soon?
I use to have the same problem with mine who's almost 3. We had to finally take one of the rails off of her baby bed(it converts into a daybed)b/c she could climb out of it even though it was at the lowest notch possible. We fought and fought to keep her in the bed when I put her down for the night. She'd sneak out of bed 10-15 times before she'd finally fall asleep. So I put up the baby gate in her doorway. She hasn't tried to climb over it and it keeps her in her room. Some nights SHE tells me to put it up. Might try something like that.
