I want to get into the area of programming where you create compilers, any advice?

To be more clear I want to be able to build some programming languages that can be used in applications, like Action script in Macromedia flash. What type of area of programming would that be under?I want to get into the area of programming where you create compilers, any advice?
It's not like aren't already too many languages. But why not?

That is under low level programming, utilizing native codes such as C++ or Java.





As an advice, first try to define what kind of project you want to work on, then select the tool to use for the said project and persevere into finishing the project.
Buy a book on Minux which is a small version of Linux.
