I was on depo for 2 years and then got married, switched to birth control pills and stopped them in Spetember of 2006. Been tring to get pregnant since and have seen no results. Just wondering by me having been on depo for so long would that be the reson it's taking so long, or am I just worring too much. Going to try Clear Blue ovulation kit and wanted to know would this also help!Trying for 3 months to get pregnant need advice!?
When did you stop having the injection? This can sometimes take up to 18 months to clear from your system completely. So depending on when you stopped it this could be the reason. It will not have an affect on your chances of pregnancy though once it is out of your system. There are no proven long term effects of the injection
Apart from that 3 months really isn't that long. It takes couples on average, 3-6 months of trying before they conceive. Its not considered a problem by Drs unless you have been trying for 12 months without success.
Yes the ovulation kit could help as it will let you know just before you ovulate so you will be able to time the BD right, giving you the highest possible chance of success. Good luck xTrying for 3 months to get pregnant need advice!?
I don't know about depo, but I just started using the Clearblue ovulation sticks and detected an LH surge after using 4 sticks and I am really hoping, fingers crossed that it has worked. I will send good baby vibes your way!
when you are on birth control of any kind for any amount of time, it can really mess up your cycle. sometimes it takes up to a year to get any type of regular cycle back. that's why they tell you to go off birth control for a year before trying for a baby. an ovulation kit will help because that way you will know when you are ovulating and not just having sex on a random day and hoping to get pregnant.
I was on the patch for 1 and a half years and when I went off, my cycle didn't get back to normal for another year.
The best thing you could do is to consult your doctor about your concerns, relax and let it happen, and above all enjoy the most spontaneous and liberating sex you can have in your relationship, (don't have to worry about birth control). The more relaxed you are the better off you will be when you become pregnant, and the more exiting it will be.
I was told by my dr it can take up to 6 months for the effects of the Pill to wear off in some patients, not sure how long depo would take to wear off in comparison.
I tried the clear blue kit but thought it was too expensive, and you have to start on the right day in your cycle for the entire month to matter.
I used a paid subscription to www.fertilityfriend.com and a $20 basal body thermometer (they'd be sold in the same place as the ov kits) and had a much better grasp on what my body was doing. Also the up side to charting your temp to see your ovulation is you'll have your numbers to take to your doctor if you need to - mine looked at several months worth and felt good I didn't have a hormone imbalance that was keeping me from getting pg
Also, stress is a huge barrier to getting pregnant. It's easier said than done, but do your best to not be tense all the time and it can make a difference.
i was on the depo shot for 2 years and got off it and i've been off it for 8 months and i'm trying to get pg... and i'm like you i'm worry myself about it... if that clear blue works let me know
