Take a small jar or can with the top cut off and fill the bottom with some beer. I'm serious.

Bury the can or jar up to just the rim so that it makes an effective trap.

Snails and slugs are attracted to the sugars and yeast in the beer and will crawl inside to get at it. Once they hit the alcohol in the beer, it breaks down their delicate slime layer and they die.

It sounds weird but it works. It's an old method used by home vegetable garden growers. It's worked for everyone I know.Help! Any advice how to get rid of snails in my garden?
the best and safest slug and snail bait is one that contains IRON PHOSPHATE as the 'killer' ingredient..... like Slug-go.... it's safe around kids and pets and wildlife, turns into fertilizer if not eaten by the slug or snail and does a really good job.... note... some of the commercial baits for slugs and snail are highly toxic .. so be careful to read what's in whatever you purchase!!....
