Help i have a cold and need to get rid off it any advice!!?

Im 13 and have had a bad throat, cold and cough since tuesday and i really need to get better before tomorrow because i have an exam in school! I need some tips on how to get rid of a cold fast my throat is better at the moment but i cant stop coughing i have ashma too please help. My grandmother always gave us castor oil, when we were sick. It is a diuretic, so once it goes through you and cleans you out, you usually feel better fast. However, it's the nastiest thing a person can ever possibly consume. Try mixing it with pop to deaden the taste and do your very best not to throw it up.Help i have a cold and need to get rid off it any advice!!?
take lots of vitamin C and go see a doctor. he/she will give you some meds that will help kick it before it gets real bad. good luck!
I take usually in this case ';Coldrex'; against high temperature and herbal mix against cough also more warm liquid.
